How to Add Legal Policies in WordPress

Method #1: Embed Policy

Click on the Pages in the sidebar menu and then on the Add New button.

Click on the "3 dots" icon in the top right corner and then on the Code editor option in the pop-up.

Type in the name of your policy (such as Privacy Policy) in the Add Title text box.

Right below it, paste the embed policy code from your WebsitePolicies account.

Finally, click on the Publish button.

Method #2: Display policy in a pop-up

This is a two-step process.

Step 1: Create a link to your legal policy on your website.

Go to Appearance and select Menus.

Select Footer menu in the drop-down box. If you don't already have it, you may create it. Check with your theme designer if you're unsure how to do it or if your theme supports footer menus.

Click on the Custom Links tab under Add menu items.

Paste the URL of your policy and enter the correct name associated with the URL.

Click Add to Menu and click Save Menu.

Step 2: Copy the script code from your WebsitePolicies account and paste it into the HTML section of the page.

Note: You need to install the Insert Headers and Footers plugin.

To install Insert Headers and Footers plugin: Go to your WordPress dashboard, click Plugins

Select Add New

Search the keyword Insert Headers and Footers by WPBeginner

Click Install Now

Click Activate

Once activated, go to Settings on the sidebar menu.

Select Insert Headers and Footers

Under Scripts in Footer, paste the Display in a pop-up code and click Save

Method #3: Link Policy

Go to Appearance and select Menus.

Select Footer menu in the drop-down box. If you don't already have it, you may create it. Check with your theme designer if you're unsure how to do it or if your theme supports footer menus.

Click on the Custom Links tab under Add menu items.

Paste the URL of your policy and enter the correct name associated with the URL.

Click Add to Menu and click Save Menu.

Method #4: Copy & Paste Policy

Click Pages in the sidebar menu, then click Add new page.

For plain text: Type the policy name in Add Title and paste the plain text of your policy. Click Publish.

For HTML format: Click the "3 dots" icon in the top right corner.

In the Editor section, choose Code editor.

Type the policy name in Add Title and paste the HTML format of your policy. Click Publish.
